Our Policies:
AI Usage
ZISMUN recognises that AI tools can support the research and preparation process. This policy defines the boundaries of acceptable AI use to ensure that all delegate participation remains authentic, equitable, and in the spirit of Model United Nations.
Permitted use
-
Using AI tools for background research, fact-checking, and topic exploration during preparation
-
Consulting AI for general understanding of committee topics, country positions, or UN procedures.
Prohibited use
-
Generating or directly using AI-written content in speeches delivered during committee sessions.
-
Using AI to draft or compose working papers, amendments, or resolutions submitted during conference.
-
Presenting AI-generated text as your own delegate work in any official conference material.
Failure to comply with this policy leads to immediate disqualification from chance at Best Delegate Award
Phone Usage
ZISMUN operates as a phone-free conference in alignment with Zurich International School's device policy. This ensures delegates remain fully engaged in committee proceedings and uphold the professional standards expected of the conference.
Expectations
-
All delegates are expected to keep their phones pocketed and on silent throughout committee sessions.
Phones will not be used for any purpose — including communication, note-taking, or research — during committee time.
Delegates will be asked to place phones in their pockets during attendance roll call at the start of each session.
This policy applies to all committee sessions and official conference spaces. It is consistent with ZIS school policy and applies equally to all participating delegates regardless of home school.
Our Dress Code
Our dress code is much like any other MUN conferences'. We ask that all delegates dress in business casual clothing, such as a suit and tie for men, and formal shoes.
Here are some great exemplars for you to take inspiration from.
